High on the slopes of Mt. Elgon, smallholder farmers make up the Chesiro Farmers’ Cooperative — a community rooted in shared resilience, deep agricultural knowledge, and generations of care.
With support from Long Miles Kenya’s team, their work sustains not only exceptional coffee, but the future of their land, their families, and their community. Together, they shape the story and the flavor of every cup.
A generational community of farmers hand-tending each tree with care, passing down knowledge and stewardship from one season to the next.
An elected board helps guide decisions around pricing, quality, and support, so the cooperative’s growth reflects the needs of real families.
Neighbors teaching neighbors. Long Miles’ Coffee Scouts visit farms daily, supporting soil health, crop care, and sustainable practices that keep both people and place thriving.

At the foothills of Mt. Elgon, the Chesiro Farmers’ Cooperative cultivates coffee as bright and balanced as the land itself — where red earth meets misty mornings and generations of care thrive
From the people who grow it to the land that sustains it, Jambo Java is rooted in connection. We started in Kenya with one goal: give back to the landscapes and communities that make this coffee possible.
Jambo Java is proud to support Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, one of Africa’s most iconic conservation organizations. Their rescue and rehabilitation work gives orphaned elephants and rhinos a second chance at life. Jambo Java contributes to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and their mission to protect Kenya’s wildlife and wild habitats for generations to come.
